Display - Toppan, NH Techno Glass to Expand in Taiwan
October 12, 2004
The Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs recently approved plans for Taiwan Toppan and NH Techno Glass to expand their production facilities at the Tainan Technology Park in southern Taiwan.

Taiwan Toppan is presently using 10.3 hectares of factory space at Tainan park, where they produce color filters. Toppan plans to enlarge their sixth-generation production line by 2.7 hectares. The company is proceeding this month with the instillation of new equipment, and they expect mass production to begin by the end of 2004.

NH Techno Glass occupies 6.5 hectares of factory space at Tainan park and plans to expand their facilities by 3.3 hectares. In response to high demand for motherless, the expansion project will provide six new furnaces for glass production; only two are presently in operation. NH Techno Glass will also expand its glass-cutting facilities to accommodate the increase in glass output.

Toyo Ink and ULVAC Coating have soon-to-be-released plans to expand at Tainan park, further fortifying the local display industry cluster.
